What's all the buzz in the world of cards? Attend MACHA's Card Industry Happenings & Legislative Update teleseminar on Monday, September 27th to find out. There has been a lot of attention centered around consumer rights and protections related to electronic payments.  It started as early as 1978 with the implementation of the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Act and more recently with the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009.  We can anticipate additional changes/restrictions that will be focused on protecting cardholders in the coming years.  The economy has had a dramatic impact on the retail industry and the merchants are demanding fewer restrictions and greater flexibility when it comes to payment alternatives.  During this session we will explore current industry happenings and published or anticipated legislative changes.
